Since the transforming Communist revolution in Beijing 1949, this mega city has become one of the  nations industrial centers. After the communist revolution, massive investments from the government were granted for the development of heavy industry in the city. Beijing is ranked second in the world for its industrialization  because of its complex and refined machinery  textile and petrochemical sectors. Petrochemical are chemicals made of petroleum and natural gases. To this day, Beijing is home to 100 of Chinas biggest companies. Many multi-national companies choose to base there Asia headquarters in Beijing.  The economy of China is based on the high end manufacturing sectors Beijing offers. Tourism and media play a key component in Beijing's economy. The imports and exports Beijing conducts keeps Beijing's economic state stable. Agriculture also plays a significant role in the economy of Beijing, the farming lets the people of Beijing not rely as much on other countries to import food to them.
